On releasing this album
Chopin is said to not have opened his heart to anyone. This is my attempt to express the universe of his heart on the keyboard.
The message of his free-spirited music gave me the image of the springtime when the snow begins to thaw.
Please enjoy this new musical story born fromthe inspiration I received from Chopin.

もともと、日本と諸外国の音楽を結び付けるという発想から作品創りが始まり、録音作業が進むうちに誰にも想像がつかなかった広がり豊田裕子(TOYODA YUKO)が、大胆なアレンジで生まれ変わったショパンの名曲を豪華オーケストラにより全身全霊で奏でた、まさに水晶のように輝くアルバムが完成した。
数えきれぬほどリリースされているショパンの作品。しかしこのアルバムは、単にショパンの名曲を演奏し、収録したアルバムとは全く違う。ショパンの心象までをもイメージして演奏した名曲の数々、そして名曲にさえ新しいタイトルを添えている。200年前のショパンの感情、感性とコラボレーションした豊田裕子が、その魂を指先から鍵盤に注ぎ込んだ、寛ぎを約束してくれる1枚！
The concepts are “beauty,” “elegance” and “dynamism.” On this album, Yuko Toyoda plays Chopin masterpieces that are reborn through daring arrangements. Accompanied by a stellar orchestra, she plays on this crystalline album with heart and soul.
The world has seen countless iterations of Chopin’s works. But this album is not simply a collection of recordings of performances of Chopin’s masterpieces.
She invokes Chopin’s imagination in performing his masterpieces, and even gives his works new titles. Yuko Toyoda, by collaborating with Chopin’s emotions and sensitivities from 2 centuries ago, pours her soul onto the keyboard through her fingers. This CD promises to give you a relaxing moment.

これはもう、ショパンの名曲をどのように演奏するかではなく、その生涯を新しい音で描いた、豊田裕子さん側からのアプローチだといえるでしょう。豊田さんのクリスタルピアノの音色は人の心を癒しますが、それだけでなく、このディスクは、それ以上の元気と明日への希望を抱かせてくれるでしょう。

This is not about how one performs Chopin’s masterpieces. One could say that Yuko Toyoda is approaching Chopin by painting his life through new sounds. The tones of Toyoda’s crystal piano have the power to heal one’s heart, but this is more than that. This disk will give listeners the energy and hope for tomorrow.

Pianist Yuko Toyoda has expanded her imagination from Chopin’s originals. And all the pieces that were arranged according to her desires have grown from piano pieces to pieces to be performed with an orchestra.
You will not find traditional Chopin here.
But through their rhythms and melodies―at times sentimental, and at other times cheerful and pop―you will notice that the heart of Chopin beats in this unique, new world.
This album also includes an original piece “Waltz for Little Birds -- A Letter to Chopin --” written by Yuko Toyoda.
She took a melody that came to her on March 1st, Chopin’s birthday, as a message from Chopin and included it in this album. From 200 years away, how would Chopin enjoy this piece?
